Dress Like a Celebrity

Lush meadow has been one of the colour trends in 2016/2017 fall. This shade of green is not only beautiful and trendy but also brings an utmost elegance and sophistication to your style.

As fashion and colour trends go through circular motion we can appreciate the celebrity style of Uma Thurman and Audrina Patridge from couple of years ago and 'steal' their look or use these samples as an inspiration.

An investment into a long dress like Uma's eleganat dress could stand through time and multiple events. The simplicity of the colour and the dress makes it easy to chose a matching pair of shoes or sandals and a few pieces of jewellery.  You can really play with contrasting or similar tones to add to your look, depending on what you like or what you are in the mood for.

Audrina's lush meadow dress is much shorter and creates a chic style for a younger look. Her dress is complimented by black shoes, black clutch bag with a metallic strap and a long golden necklace.

I also decided to go for a contrasting golden necklace from Forever 21 to add a tiny bit of sparkle and a golden Carvela pair shoes. My dress is from Misguided so if you are looking to get one you can buy it here and here is a shorter lush meadow dress with closed back
The great news is that both dresses are currently on sale so hurry if you want to get a hold of any of them!

Freshening up outdoors look without spending a fortune

In the fall season we wear just a couple of jackets/coats to keep us warm while we travel to work, to our after work activities and maybe we do a bit of traveling around the country. Most of us stick to wearing the same layers when we go outside as there is no actual need for numerous coats - we only wear them for relatively short space of time each day and they take up a lot of space to store in the wardrobe for the rest of the year.
My secret to keeping things fresh when it comes to outdoor looks is wearing scarves.

Here I am wearing my favourite Zara scarf. Not only does it keep me warm and cosy, it also pops a bit of colour and freshens up the look.

The light blue and colour motifs are classical Russian prints. If you are not familiar with these motifs you might have seen Valentino's collection a year or two ago which closely resembled the print. This is another great add of colour to go with my plain black coat.

You can add a creme or light beige scarf if you want a more elegant and gentle touch to finish off your look. This tone goes nicely with browns and blacks.

This H&M scarf is a real gem. It is lighter in material than the scarfs on the previous pictures but its texture, character and flowery look are great additions to any of my jackets when the wind is not as heavy and sharp.

As you can see from these pictures I am wearing black pieces however they all look different in the end thanks to my small collection of scarves.

If you are looking to shop for some new accessories H&M, Zara, Arnotts and Brown Thomas are great for new finds.

Pinky - Purple Weekend

On the weekend the cold wind was hitting us hard but despite the weather I wrapped up warm and made it to the park to catch some winter light and fresh air. Of course the stroll in the park would not have been even half as enjoyable if it was happening without Snoopy.

We got ready together and along the way we documented our progress. I went mainly for pink and purply tones for my look as I was feeling quite positive and energised. I wore a warm Bershka jumper, my favourite Mango jeans with Nine West boots (previously posted) and completed my look with the classical watch. And Snoopy, you might ask? Well Snoopy was wearing his usual natural beautiful fur and a green coat when we went outside to keep him warm.

Music on my mind

Music plays an important role in my life... It can make me inspired, gets me motivated and keeps me moving forward. Certain songs and and artists can form an unbreakable bond with moments and experiences in my life. And as my life just like yours and everyone else's tends to be a bit of a rollercoaster it is essential to keep moving on and keep going. This is why I love listening to fresh music - new artists, new songs and different styles.

Check out my Soundcloud & Spotify and if you think I would enjoy listening to your playlists get in touch and I will check out your page.

How to Love Exercise

New Year, New Resolutions and New Ambitions... Sounds familiar, right?! But how do you actually get off the couch, shake off the festive belly and pursue your fitness goals whatever they might be (strong body/healthy lifestyle/ weight loss etc)? For me personally, the key to staying active is enjoying what I do - whether it is running, pilates, yoga, gym or swimming - as long as I love the type of workout I am doing it keeps me motivated to exrecise again and again.

Top - Forever 21 & Leggings - kyodan

So the first most important thing in the pursuit of finding your 'love' towards working out is discovering the type of sport you love. When I was a kid I did not like sports that much - possibly because I was already actively burning down the extra energy in my dance classes and competitions. However I have to admit I have always stayed active as the benefits of doing exercise have always swayed their persuasive charm over me. If becoming fitter is one of your new year resolutions and you are only new to physical activity I would suggest trying different classes or joining a group of the  type of sports style you are interested in. If you do not enjoy it after trying out for a while don't get disheartened, just try something new. The chances are you will learn what type of movements you are naturally better at and this will guide you towards the right choice.

The second important factor that will keep you motivated to 'stick it out' the first few weeks after getting into the fitness mode is the sportswear fashion. In my opinion fashion in general is very important and can shape our perception in various ways. When it comes to sportswear it is important not to neglect the importance of wearing the clothes and runners you like. In fact, I believe that if you buy yourself an awesome T-shirt/sports bra/pair of tights/leggings you will be more likely to get excited for your next workout. The sports brands have done an amazing job in producing beautiful sportswear clothes and runners so embrace it and get inspired to curve out a better version of you!

If you are a more driven and ambitious person then set yourself goals and track your improvements. There are tons of options available in the app stores to chose from and a lot of smartphones have the app already preinstalled so it couldn't get much easier than that. Sign up for runs or various competitions to keep your focus and that way you will have more interest in producing better results and raising your own bar. When I first started running I signed up for the electric run and rainbow run with my friends and they were so much fun! There are also plenty of more serious runs available in the city.

Doing exercise with friends can also serve as a great motivator. Not only do you get the mental support from friends to work off your butt harder but you also get to socialise! However don't obsess over comparing the results all the time against other people as we are all genetically different so doing the same thing will not have exactly the same impact on two different people. Also diet and rest are important factors that would impact your results.

And at last but not least - observe how you feel after the exercise. Do you get a dopamine rush after your run? I certainly do! Is your body getting firmer? And how are your moods after staying more active? These are all the great benefits that come with the fitness. Observe them and enjoy the new you! ;)

Embracing Your Feminine Side this Winter

In the winter we tend to wrap up warm and wear layers upon layers to protect ourselves from the cold weather. But how do we go about embracing our femininity and feeling good about our style?

Well, for me the most feminine pieces of fashion are skirts and dresses. I feel like skirts embrace our feminine shapes and highlight the hips while showing off a bit of the leg. Another of my favourite feminine items to wear is this jumper with lace which barely shows fragments of the skin while creating a beautiful pattern and flowing into the rest of the jumper.

This French Connection wine colour bag was perfect to go with my outfit and created a harmony between the bottom and the top halves. I chose to wear long black boots to finish off the look and to keep my legs warm.

Which piece of clothing makes you feel feminine?

New Boots

I would like to share with you one of my favourite new purchases that I made recently.

These boots - Ta Daa

If you have long and narrow feet like me then you are familiar with the struggle of finding nice looking and comfortable shoes & boots. These boots are Nine West and I have to admit their footwear is always great - both for looks and comfort.

I am planning on wearing these flat boots mainly for work and casually. If I wanted to then I can also pull off a dressy look with these Nine West boots as they are quite elegant, chick and simply black so would go well with certain skirts.

Looking forward to wearing them!
